I would describe a champagne bronze as similar to a gold with slightly more pink and brown tones in it rather than the yellows and oranges you might associate with a brass color. I can’t predict how a color will look because it’s not just the direction of the light but how many windows, how big are they? Aura is designed for, among other things, a fast recoat time. That doesn’t mean I have to drive a Rolls to work, but it does mean I don’t want to depend on a junk yard escapee to get me to jobs. Many retailers in our area carry all the Ben Moore lines of paint so availability was not an issue. I don’t regret it at all. Champagne bronze also has a lovely brushed finish, which helps to keep it looking soft and also mutes some of the harsh brassy tones that might otherwise come through. The paint was always very expensive at around $26 per gallon for Regal Eggshell Interior and $42 for Moore Guard Low Lustre Exterior. not only was Aura paint very expensive – you will need to keep the windows open as you paint the room – it doesn’t brush out smooth and you will have to apply TWO COATS… I will never ever buy this paint again. Days and weeks after the original finish is done you can touch up spots and they will blend invisibly after drying. we used the paint they recommended for the bathroom bc it holds up against steam but that too was a lie as we now have water streaks down our walls. Their Accolade is on the Aura level and, I think, costs a little less. The matte finish does an incredible job of helping to hide minor wall imperfections. But whether to pick up color from spring flowers, summer grass, autumn leaves, or snow and fog is always a matter of pleasant confusion to me (worth many hours of pondering color). Did you know that Aura paint us applied with a specific technique? Always creamy rich results with no roller lines or flashing. It is twice as expensive as other brands, but in my opinion, the quality is incomparable. I agree. I need to ship it in, pay duty and get a “license” from the government to bring in any paints, varnishes etc. But yes, it does vaguely resemble cat puke on the chip. Then, consult with your BM paint dealer that you like in your area, if that’s the brand you wish to use. This is wonderful particularly for libraries and offices but can also be used in other rooms. According to BM, they use much less H2O in their paint and this is why it is such fine quality. I use the flat, and YES.. it will have a sheen for 4-5 days.. which does cut down and will go matte. I’ve used aura paint in the bath, however due to the large size and fact that 1500 sq ft is my workshop, I opted for the BEN line for the shop and regal in my office area. The biggest plusses to me are that cut-in and brush marks don’t show at all, nor do roller marks, which means you can go back and touch up missed spots and have them disappear on the walls. although i believe bm aura paint is the top grade best paint ever, the ben regal is also very good and a reasonably priced paint… looooovvvveee ben moore paint, i will not use anything else. Did your state outlaw both the Impervo Alkyd and Acrylic paints or just the Alkyd(oil-based). Aura, also, is low VOC and can often cover in one coat. One thing I quickly learned about Aura, if you are painting with the “W” stroke, it does not work with Aura. I feel that 9 is a good number to give some variety without being overwhelming. I find the Benjamin Moore aura paints to have an incredible scope and breadth to the color. I used a quality primer and both cheap and very high quality rollers.
